MINES RESCUE TEAM
ADDED 24 June 2006

I
enclose a photograph depicting the Mines Rescue Team which I believe may
be of interest to you.
John
William Colley Malpass was my Grandfather. He was born in 1886 in
Staffordshire and started work at the Prince of Wales Pit in 1900/01 at
the age of 14. His father also worked at the pit. During the 1920s –
early 1930s he was involved in a very bad accident there - a roof fall I
believe, which left him unable to return to work. I don’t know if this
is a photograph of the team who rescued him or if the man first left on
the back row is a family member possibly named Colley as we have other
photographs of him.

If
anyone can shed any light on the above photograph I would be delighted
to hear from you. Webmaster.
