TREVOR HAWLEY
ADDED 19 DECEMBER 2006
I have
just been reading the new November issue of The Digest - Pontefract
edition. I am an avid reader of The Digest and have already made a
contribution. I was most interested in the letter by Bill Wood, a cousin
of mine, about the Market Place Youth Club, in which he mentioned my
brother, Trevor (whose name was not Hayley as printed, but Hawley; my
maiden name.)
Trevor’s prowess as a dancer in Youth Club days, as mentioned in the
article by Cliff and May Booth, continued throughout his life. Along
with his wife, Mona, he loved dancing and did so with great enthusiasm,
as he did with everything. He was a member of the Art Class and became
quite an accomplished artist and was also a member of the Castleford
Male Voice Choir, who sang at his funeral.
Trevor
was much loved by his own family of two sisters; Hilda (myself), and
Dorothy, and his late brother Ern (Ernie), and also of his own immedate
family. He was also held in great esteem and with great affection by
everyone who knew him.
Hilda Arundel (nee Hawley)
