PONTEFRACT GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL SONG

ADDED 9 JANUARY 2007

One of your issues relates to Pontefract Girls High School and the school song. Your reader could not remember the words, well here they are.

We sing a song of school days
our school upon the hill,
Our lessons and our playtimes,
we sing them with a will,
For though we’re proud and happy
to praise our school today
As soldiers wear their khaki
It’s colours we display.

Chorus:

Verita via vitae long live the school
keep it’s fame untarnished,
that’s the school girls rule
May we never shame it never love it less,
Good betide it ever PDHS.

It isn’t only lessons
we come to school to learn,
E’en here we know the changes,
of fortune kind or stern
we cannot all gain prizes
we can’t win every game,
but though weve disappointments
we love school just the same.

Chorus again.

Hope this helps.

Noreen
